Life goes on ...

So, how can I summarize the past 6 months of non entries into one entry? Well, let's give it a shot ...

Summer:
I had a decent summer, baseball was amazing this year, and we had a great year coming 2nd in provincials and 2nd in our league playoffs, but that's enough about that.

School:
Since mid August I have been taking journalism at King's, and I truly love it. I'm so happy to actually be doing something in school that I enjoy, and I know this is my career path. Our program started with 8 weeks of basic training, called "boot camp", where we got a taste of everything and started to learn the ropes. From there we went into workshops - I did the newspaper workshop. The highlight of that for me was getting my story on the front page I would say. It may have only been the Halifax Commoner, but, it still counts.

I am now doing an internship for the Dartmouth-Cole Harbour Weekly News for a month until Christmas. So if you get that paper, take a look for my articles, and feel free to leave anonymous comments on my livejournal telling me that I suck and can't write.

One great part about my journalism program are the people in it with me. It is a great bunch of people, and I've made some decent friends from the program. I expected it would be more 'cut throat' and that everyone in the program would be elitist and trying to get the upper hand on people, but it hasn't been like that at all - everyone is great.

The love life:
At the end of October, Monica and I mutually and amicable decided to break up. It wasn't exactly a huge surprise, but it is a decision that I am still dealing with. We would have been dating for 5 years this December, and it's just weird to not have someone be a part of your life in that way anymore. So needless to say, it has been an adjustment, but we are still friends and I hope everything works out for the best in the end. So yeah, I'm single.. if you are secretely in love with me, let me know.. haha.

I guess those are the major aspects of my previous 6 months. I like how I wrote this, but don't feel the need to go over it, print it out, and double/triple/quadruple check for errors and style points like I've become accustomed to doing in journalism. Let's hear it for LJ laziness!
