So, I just returned from a trip to Toronto.
Let me tell you, free vacations are sweet..
As you may know, I work for the student newspaper on campus, and the yearly Canadian University Press national conference was this past week. Due to some donations and such from people at our school, 6 of our newspaper staff were able to attend the conference, with flight, accomodations, and most meals payed for.
It was a really interesting week filled with a lot of pretty cool seminars. It makes me anxious and nervous for next year. It's really unnerving to not know what you will be doing in a years time. Graduation can certainly do that to a person. As for now, I am really hoping I get into one of the journalism schools I apply to, as this is the only thing scholastic that I have ever felt a little bit of passion for.
It would have been a lot easier if I had just gone into a journalism program in the first place, but I guess it's too late for that.
I saw Comeback Kid while I was in Toronto. That was pretty cool, because I had missed them when they came to Halifax with Bane. It kind of sucked as I went to the show by myself, but it was a pretty cool show, and since I've been to very few genuine hardcore shows, it was really cool. Also playing was A Death for Every Sin, and Figure Four. Figure Four really impressed me. It was their first show in a year and a half apparently, but they played really well. The kids frigging WENT OFF too, it was nuts in there for a lot of the show.
It sucked at the end too because I thought I had lost my jacket (ended up finding it), so I spent most of the Comeback Kid set worrying about a lost jacket.
