Well going back to the story a lot of people say that after Hao lost to his brother Yoh, he lost everything especially his friends and followers, leaving poor Hao all alone. Well to me, I don't believe in all that crap though I do love the other authors fan fiction. I also agree that that there are not much of Hao fics around. Well this is a HaoxJeanne fic and all the other love birds in the story like Yoh and Anna or Ren and Pirika...
Friend and Foe
Prologue
'Why can I not see my son, Mikihisa? You already saw him but why can't I?'
'It's not yet time my love, Hao will not accept you.'
'You do not know the burden I bear, Mikihisa,' turning her back on her husband and setting her sight outside the window, 'You have often seen our sons in battle but I, your wife would often stay here at home praying that both Yoh and Hao would not kill each other and now that it's over you're saying I still cannot see my son?' Tears ran freely from her beautiful orbs, as the pale stricken lady faced her husband once again.
Mikihisa did not wish to trouble her wife especially when he knew that she had been for a long time now. But to issue such a request to see their prodigal son, Hao the destroyer was insane. His train of thoughts was interrupted though when his wife again spoke.
'I cannot go any further, my dear. I thought I did at the hope of seeing our son one day but now that, that dream is within your grasp you are taking it away from me again. That is why if you do not bring our son here, then I will go to our son.'
'He isn't even our son anymore. Hao took care of that, besides you wouldn't, not in your state.'
'Whatever you say will not change the fact that he is still my flesh and blood. And with that you are only forcing my hand, Mikihisa.'
'Is my love and your son's love not enough any more?'
'You know it's not that! But if you were in my place, you would do the same.' Taking a letter from a nearby drawer, she approached her husband only to place the letter on his palm. 'I am not going to ask you to grovel at his feet, give this letter to him and he will surely understand.'
'What's inside it?'
'Nothing, it just says that I'm inviting him to come here. He can also bring his friends if he wants.'
'And what of our other son?'
'What of Yoh, he will surely understand as well. Besides I also invited him and all his friends to come over here.'
'You did what?'
'I invited them all here.'
'My dear, you must understand that even after 10 years has passed, the scars of all the battles will never fade.'
'I am not asking that they forgive and forget. I am not a hypocrite, Mikihisa. I know what it feels to lose but for this time, this moment could they at least stop their fighting. Yoh can handle his group as Hao can handle his own. They both have followers and friends, and at our sons' expense their friends can stop their bickering to have some good time. My love, Christmas is nearing please grant me this wish to see our family happy and complete...'
'Very well, I will do it for you.'
