The Smith Avenue - chapter 5.
After Victoria was born, many things have changed. She was departed to Pleasantview with Demi, safely put into hands better than Jill and Tarius'. Even though she was first and foremost a genetic experiment, nor Jill nor Tarius couldn't help but to feel sad they had to let her go. Five minutes in Jill's arms and she was her own. Little pale skinned baby that had so much in her. And she was named Victoria after the victory they were supposed to take. She was their triumph.
Those days, Jill was observed as some kind of experiment, like they were waiting for her to crack and go insane. She never did, fortunately. Strong, as always, she kept on performing her duties like a true General she was. But she never spoke a word with Tarius again, nor she ever would.
He had accused her of being selfish and cold-blooded, which was probably true in a way. But never when it came to her own baby. She let go, because she knew that was the best thing to do. And you couldn't really say it was a love child, even though it had quickly became loved by both parents.
"You have got to understand her, Tarius. She gave up her child because she knew that was the right thing to do. What would you do, keep Victoria in here? In this war zone?"
"Well, no, but still...!"
Venee simply smiled and offered comforting gaze.
"I know. And she knows.This was the best thing to do."
And the life moved on. Tarius entered a stable relationship with Crystal and Jill found happiness with Ripp, as much as it was possible, anyways. She even proposed to him, knowing they had only so little time left...
