Synopsis

Friday: Busy, busy, busy. Up at 5 to prepare for drill. Drill at 7 and then out at 8:30. Katie called me from Bahrain at 9! Wild! So I talked with her as long as her phone card would last, which was all of 15 minutes. It was really good to hear from her, and I find that when I get to talk with her, I miss her a little bit. Maybe that happens with people that you don't think that you'll ever get to see again. Anyway, class at 12:45 was dull, but okay. Reading the Iliad. Then my Geography midterm either went really well or really poorly, because I breezed right through it and was one of the first ones done. That always makes me wary. I then met up with some friends after a much needed 15 minute nap. We had dinner and discussed various business opportunities. I only wish that I could have gone out with Kyle and Alex that evening. That's twice that they've invited me and I've not been able to go. Soon they're going to start thinking that I'm just blowing them off. I am resolved to go out next week though, so I'm hoping that nothing too big comes up.

Saturday: After setting my alarm for times later thrice in the morning, I awoke, showered and then met mom for an early afternoon picnic on campus with the unit. I got to meet a lot of parents (being parents' weekend at school) and then we hiked over to Clarendon for the street fair. Street fairs are one of my favorite types of fairs. We got to listen to a great R&B Band as well as some great Latin music. I hope to get a Latin music CD from B&N this week. There's something so scintilating about the rhythm and music that it becomes very addictive. The scones were fantastic, and Old Dominion has to be one of my top three favorite Ginger Ales. There are also a bunch of great artists and artisans in my area! I loved looking that the different prints that were being sold. It's times like those that I lament being a poor college student and unable to purchase such nice works. Of course, much of my money is going toward a better cause at the end of the month. And I'll give you a hint: it's not a halloween costume. ;)

Today: Missed church because I stayed up all night waiting for the brothers to get home and then passed out on the couch this morning while getting ready to leave for services. Then I went to dad's house only to learn that they were already at grandma's for her party. The party was nice. My grandparents are always so happy to see me! I like to make their day.

I feel partly cloudy today....
