fave-ish songs & a beta search
I've been putting this off for a while, and though I said I'd put a lot of thought into it, I haven't, but here are six I really like, if not necessarily my top six, in no particular order--
1) Shakira, "Si Te Vas"
2) Ani DiFranco, "Fucking Napoleon"
3) Shakira, "Ojos Asi"
4) Alanis Morissette, "Hands Clean" (though I think I may only like this song in small doses)
5) Garbage, "Stroke of Luck"
6) Ani DiFranco, "School Night"
And, um, yeah, I am totally aware that these all are a few years old. :P (Actually I do like some current songs, but it is kind of embarrassing--for instance, I really like "Candy Shop", even though it is so sexist and ridiculous. But I can't help myself!)
ALSO! I am just going to put this out there--I'll go to a beta directory soon, but it is for a challenge-y thing, so I want to get it done quickly if possible--I'm looking for a beta for a short G-rated R/Hr fic.
Yep, that's right; R/Hr, not H/G.
It's 1423 words, titled "Eye Contact" (unless inspiration strikes me for a better title). It might be PG, but I am aiming for G, not because I have anything against PG and up fics, but because I am challenging myself to write a shippy fic with romance at a G rating. Sooo. I am looking for someone to beta for characterization and also to give me lots and lots of general feedback. I don't need a proofreader: I do make typos and mistakes, of course, but I think the bigger thing for this is plotty stuff. So, yep!
