it doesn't feel like sunday

Things in the box chartwells gave everybody as "hurricane survival kits" before the dining hall closed for the hurricane:

2 apples; 1 red, 1 yellow
2 packets of 2 honey graham crackers
1 box of sunmaid raisins
1 apple cinnamon nutri-grain bar
2 packets of 2 oatmeal raisin & cinnamon cookies
2 packets of 2 chocolate chip cookies
1 Hunt's thing of chocolate pudding
1 spoon

I'm ready.

But seriously. The skies are still very clear outside. It feels like we've been waiting forever for this hurricane. We'll see how things go. Hopefully the sky won't be lit by exploding transformers this time. And hopefully UM can retain some power if the power goes out like in katrina?

I had to put up wooden boards on windows on my dad's house yesterday, all day. He should freaking grade to shutters already. That was a pain in my upper arms.
My mom flew to atlanta this afternoon for her job, while the hurricane hits. It's kinda sad that she's not here for the hurricane... she'll be safer, and I wasn't going to go through the hurricane with her anyway, but for the first time she's not in the same city when a hurricane hits. :(

Oh my. My roommate is actually vacuuming. I think I need to get started in cleaning the bathroom before any sleepover happens.

And hopefully everyone is more prepared than they were for katrina.
