Ugh.... both my ears hurt tremendously. Hydrogen peroxide bubbled forever inside. Death to ear infections...

But Key West was AWESOME!!!

I haven't gone since I was 10. Kendall people (at least my parents back then) think US1 is far, so I seldom traveled outside of the town.

Jonathan and I set off for a day adventure in key west yesterday (saturday). Blue skies everywhere. Weather forecast mostly cloudy?? PFFFFFF

First thing we heard when we got out of the car in key west was a rooster's cry:

What the fuck are roosters and little chicks doing in the city?

We walked around... asked where the beach was... it was in:

Named after the 12th president

The beach wasn't great; I expected an island's beach to be less rocky and dirty. But it was my first time at the beach this summer.

The beach was just past the Truman Annex, where apparently truman held retreats. Capturing the historic essence of old key west indeed... white picket fences, colonial type housing...

Afterwards, we met up with elaine, ming, and john, and later orestes. We had pizza, elaine bought the booze...

And we partied a bit.

We then went to the famous spot and boardwalk where people watch the sunset...

There were little shows... people playing guitar... asking for money...

And the sunset in sepia :)

Then, finally, the main event of gay pride was that night...

People lining up for the parade in front of two clubs, KWest and aqua

A store called in touch

Missing orange...

And a slew of photos of the parade:

The parade kicked off with the KEY WEST POLICE

Behind that sign was the motto of key west "One Human Family"

twinkie... heh... well the guy certainly wasn't one... xD

Beads were thrown everywhere...

And... a trolley.

And... a movie :)

LOTS of old people. Lots of fun. Especially when elaine drank the whole night flirting with a bartender. Imagine if I would have stayed for clubbing....

But I came back home after the parade, due to strict, annoying parentals. Maybe next year I can sleep over. But awesome day, nonetheless.
