A handy tip: Bring an umbrella.
No, seriously. If anyone walks outside in that oppressive heat and sunshine, just pop open an umbrella for instant shade. You'll feel a whole lot cooler, and reduce (though not quite eliminate) the chance for a sunburn.
Particularly useful if we walk anywhere to meet for brunch...and useful in the normal way in case it actually does decide to rain while we're there...
...While we're at it, pack a folding fan. Just because the hotel has air-conditioning doesn't mean the rooms won't be packed full of sweaty, heat-generating fans of the HP-reading kind...
