Don't Panic

The start of this journal (third in our saga) flashes back to 12:03am - my pager was going off and I had no clue how long I had been asleep for, just that there was no doubt that it hadn't been long enough. I was called back to school to anesthetize a GDV dog for surgery. Grumpy and underslept I went in, did what I had to, and made it back to bed by 3:30am. Waking at 6am was rough and the on-all-night glare of the lights in the clinic did little to clarify my sense of time. I picked an entropion surgery figuring it might be a nice pug and ended up with an evil cat. Luckily, Dr Evans let me leave around noon. As tempting as a nap sounded, we decided to head out on a date to the cinema to see Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. We both enjoyed the movie and found that there was more character depth than in the book, especially for Arthur Dent. Julian sympathized with Dent as a Brit away from home and had to be consoled with a Yorkie candy bar (not for girls!)

Tonight we're making jambalaya for dinner; Julian is inspired by the smashing success of our first black-eyed-peas and rice dish. We are currently re-watching Boys Over Flowers to catch up on plot in order to see the next disk that was just in at the library. We finished Lain and enjoyed it a lot.
