Fit for a goat

Picking rosemary from my verandah for a lentil dish* I'm cooking, I suddenly remembered Riley, Ace of Goats, and how much he would have enjoyed my
rosemary bush
, especially now that it's fresh and sappy and leggy from all the sunshine after the frosty horrors of Katoomba.

Destructor never ate my rosemary, despite delighting in the bitterness of fresh sorrel & grazing that regularly to the roots. Perhaps he tried it once and found it too aromatic for his liking. Not so Riley - he would thoroughly have enjoyed the fresh young tips of my one year old rosemary bush.

Despite my fondness for the old rascal, I'm very glad he isn't living on my verandah - none of my plants, not even the geranium cutting I put in this afternoon, or the lavender bush - would be safe from his delicate lips and chomping jaws.
