Hello lovely people!
Yesterday, I must say, was a very good day. First of all, I slept as long as I wanted to in a room by myself. I know I've been home for a couple of days now and I should just get over it, but it's probably the best feeling of my life. Second of all, I can shower without flip-flops and I can listen to music without headphones AND I can watch whatever I want on TV because everyone else is busy doing other stuff all day!
Anyways, yesterday was the dreaded Christmas tree shopping trip (dum-dum-dum). Ever since the Christmas tree farm we used to go to was closed, the trip has been completely devoid of things like hay rides and hot chocolate. Any more it's mostly like pulling teeth to find a tree that A. still has needles, and B....still has needles. Its aggrivating. This year, though, everything went surprisingly smoothly (except that my dad left his gloves on the roof of the car and we had to drive along the highway at five miles and hour to find them again), and we got the tree home and still had time and energy to go out to eat. We ended up at a steakhouse in Trafalgar, which we proclaimed better than both Colorado Steak House and St. Elmo's with the additional perk that it's also cheaper. We also saw a drag queen and her family waiting to be seated. That's right, a drag queen (with a pronounced 5 o'clock shadow) was at a steak house in Trafalgar, Indiana. Just how often do you see a sight like that? It was pretty much the hilight of my night.
Now we have a decorated tree, most of the Christmas shopping is done, parents are out de-stressing for the evening, and I still have plently of vacation left. Life is good. Hooray!
