Not at all, anon! I'm glad that you like my story. As for the late date, I had it all typed up and...my computer crashed. But I remembered what I wrote, and you'll have it by today. I am SO SO SORRY! The good news is that it's long, so there will be a lot to make up for the late date (I'm a bit of a perfectionist.^^;) I hope you enjoy it!
If you're looking for different versions of 'Beauty and the Beast' to read/watch while you wait, I can reccomend Jean Cocteau's 'La Belle et La Bete' (he took opium midway through production for a skin disease, so it starts out weird and gets REALLY trippy), Alex Flinn's 'Beastly' (different from the movie and very well written POV of the Beast. Plus, Mrs. Flinn has been known to write very well about jerks and assholes, so her Beast reads very true to canon), and Julius Lester's 'Cupid' (a really wild take on the original'Beauty and the Beast' tale, 'Cupid and Psyche'. Reading the author fight with the story is great.) As you can tell, I'm a huge fairy tale nerd. :)
So look forward to it, have fun, and stay safe! ~Writer!Anon

Oh god you don't know how giddy it made me to read that you will be updating this! Beauty and the Beast is one of my all-time fave stories and retellings are the best! I'm really excited to see the beast aspect you came up with (leaving that out really bugs me, too; i cannot even begin to describe how much the movie version of Beastly pissed me off in that regard).
Wheatley is perfect, managing to be both sinister and silly. Chell is plucky and snarky and great. And I loveloveLOVE Cave as her dad. Very intrigued by the mysterious "thing" that Wheatley wants to work on; lol there are sooo many directions that one can go in. All in all, love this and very excited for an update! <3

YAY! I'm glad that you're enjoying it! I love the retellings too. I've practically worn out the library's section on fairy tales, especially the 'Beauty and the Beast' ones. I love the idea of putting it in modern times, especially because it could work better than in the older eras that it is usually situated in (Even Disney had a hard time reworking the story.). Glad you find the characters convincing, too! I thought that I would have a hard time with them, but I guess everyone's pleased so far. Hopefully I can continue with that.
