If Rick had hands, he would have throttled the whiny little pipsqueak by now.
“Really?” He rolled his optical intake skyward, or rather, underside-of-the-Earth-ward. “‘Cause I could have sworn that my metal ass was floating around free. But every time you open your damned mouth, I see I’m back in the core reject bin with a freaking Astromaniac.”
“NotinSpace. Back on Earth. Back on Earth. Fact core’s gone. Gone to Space jail. Gone with the lady to Space jail. No Space here. Back on Earth. Not in Space. Back with Adventure Core.”
Yeah, back with Adventure Core. Forever.
Finally pushed to the end of his tether, Ricks eye snapped open and rolled sharply in his chassis to stare down his frustratingly permanent companion.
“Damnit, I know!” He snarled, “You need to get yourself a NEW freakin’ obsession kid, ‘cause you’re not going back to Space. And I sure as heck can’t stand listening to you for much longer.” His optic narrowed menacingly. “Now I don’t like to stoop so low as to threaten someone weaker than me- but don’t make me get out my knife. I don’t want to have to quiet you. It ain’t worth the trouble for the both of us.”
The Space Core froze. It stared eerily at him, wide eyed and unreadable.
Ricks narrow stare was beginning to lose effect. He settled on a scowl and swivelled back to face the wall of the container.
“Now, that’s more like it. You keep that up for the next few hundred years. I'm hibernating.”
The distinct lack of sound from rotating gyros and the unmoving yellow patch of light on the wall in front of him indicated that the Space Core remained motionless. That was weird for the twitchy little freak. Rick surreptitiously peered back at him, meeting the dirty yellow lens with his own bright green. If he couldn’t sense the electromagnetic field emanating from the other core, he might have mistaken it for dead.
“You, uh... You alright?”
The pupil snapped to him with a speed and accuracy that would have made him jump, had he possessed the ability to do so.
The Space Core blinked, and a muffled beep sounded somewhere deep within its chassis. Its aperture began to slowly rotate.
“Whoa, kid, are you insane? You just wiped your BIOS-“
The speed of the rotation slowly increased, before coming to a complete stop. The core blinked again, and its eye widened.
“I’m with Rick." It said, awestruck, before pulling its ocular shutters up into a deeply affectionate smile. "Wanna be with Rick.” It confirmed.
“Hey, Rick. Rick. Rick.”
Rick withdrew his ocular plate as far back into his core as it would go and squeezed his eye shut. This was just his god-damned luck.

“What?” he muttered, torn between disbelief and anger at himself for not remembering that, at his most basic level, the Space Core had been created to obsess.
“Wanna be with Rick.” The Space Core wiggled one of its chassis mounted bars, causing it to topple over the deactivated core beneath him and closer to his newfound beau.
“No, you don’t. Really. I, uh, I’ve got Dengue fever.”
“Make you better. Wanna make you better, no more Dengue. Kiss it better, kiss kiss kiss.”
“How can you kiss me when you don’t have any damn lips!” Rick roared. “You can’t! That’s the answer, you can’t!”
The Space Core squeezed its bars apart and together repeatedly like a gaping fish. Rick groaned.
Seemingly sensing his despair, Space core tilted its iris sadly and fell quiet. Please, Rick silently begged. Let it stay that way.
“Love me.”
Oh God.
“W-what?” He began to wriggle one of his own bars, but he was lodged with his back to the corner. Damn. A sticky situation, with no way out. But that’s what he was made for, right?
One glance at the Space Core, staring at him with complete devotion, was more than enough to remind him of why he was Rejected in the first place.
“Make love to me.” It suggested triumphantly, as if procreation between two male robots lacking any kind of sexual organs was the most logical thing in the world. “Bang. Screw. Pork. Bonk. Hump. Wanna hump. Wanna hump. Wanna hump Rick, hump Rick all day.”
Space core thrust one of his bars downwards against another powered down comrade, and inched slightly closer. If Rick could cower, he would. But since that was out of the question he puffed himself up, like a snake about to strike. An Adventure Snake.
“Now you listen here, boy.” He growled, with gravelly menace dripping from his simulated voice. “I ain’t interested in your advances. I’m an Adventure Sphere. Not a, uh... Well, a Fact Sphere, I guess.”
“In my butt, in my butt, oh boy.” The other Core gabbled, its eye squinted near closed in sheer joy. It hopped an inch closer. Rick quickly deflated.
“H-huh? You don’t have a-“
“Stick it in my butt!”
“Stick WHAT in your goddamn non-existent butt?”
Space Core paused thoughtfully. Evidently, it hadn’t thought this far ahead.
“...Space?”
