And with England's elimination, there goes my interest in the World Cup. Damn, and they were doing so well, too.

I've been able to hear a nice bit of their matches (and a couple of other ones, I had to cheer for Ireland, too), which has been wicked. I've had some company for a some of it, courtesy of Tommy. He's been able to sleep through the night for awhile now, but he's still a light sleeper so if I cheered just a little too loudly for a goal, he'll wake up and won't go back to sleep for a bit. It's been fun, actually. Quality time and all of that.

I've actually been working a fair bit extra lately, thanks to the World Cup. The whole department is, really. Getting players and fans quickly and safely to and from Japan is certainly a bit of a huge task. International Floo is insane at the moment, and I am actually glad not to be dealing directly with it, because they've hit a few snags where people have had to wait to travel, or had to make unexpected layovers, or something.

But I had today off, and I spent it all at home trying to discourage my son from continually throwing food around the kitchen. He gets a laugh out of it, naturally, especially when he manages to hit me. I had a glob of mashed potatoes still on my face when Ali got home from work, and that was a wonderful conversation starter.

We're going on holiday as soon as the insanity at work dies down a bit, which is something I think we are definitely all looking forward to.
