Massive lens! :D

Thx for the ABBA info too!

We've been watching some of that anime! (roomies has, and I've been drawn in....)

I still haven't found a noise-cancelling headset that doesn't make my eardrums feel like they're being sucked out...

yay pheasant and later sleeepers! *fuzzles yer furrrr*

It's a little hefty. ^_^; I really wish Nikon would come out with a Fresnel version of it, as with the 300mm f/4! There, they brought the length and weight down by half. Though, arguably, the earlier purely refractive version has superior bokeh and resistance to off-axis bright light.

I'm definitely interested in that ABBA tour next year. ^_^ (And I see Janelle Monáe is touring now, but the SF date may well be before I'm back. I've long enjoyed her work, but Dirty Computer's the first I've actually bought - fantastic!)

Which anime?

I'm finding the noice cancellation on these to be nicely comfortable, to the extent that I can even eat with them on, and it doesn't feel like I'm listening to a bad recording of my mouth. =:) With it turned off, I'm able to hear myself breathing rather clearly ( ... )

hehe... I have a 250 mm also with no refraction, and it's a hefty one as well .. :D

Ah! There's an ice skating anime "Yuri on Ice" and a swimmer anime "Free!"... maybe a few others too, not sure the names...

oh! I forgot to mention also.. quite happy about the S.L. addition of giving ya Twice the basic land allowance as before.. a good idea on their part to recoup some Lindens from abandoned land too, not to mention the favorable P.R. from such a gift..

Good lux with the rabbiteering!

That's the trouble with larger sensors than phones and m4/3 - the lenses get quite large, and in the telephoto and supertelephoto leagues, rather heavy. =:P But, if you shrink the sensor size, and maintain the pixel count, you also shrink the photosite size, and diminish the advantages of low light sensitivity and dynamic range that APS-C and full frame afford, as well as the effects of a wide aperture lens.

What do your photographic subjects tend to be? Have you been out capturing moments of wild lives lately? (In the wildlife sense, I mean, but feel free to interpret differently =:)

I'd love to be able to watch the odd anime or such with company, but, the roomie's tastes and mine only overlap here and there - he didn't apparently take to SU at all, but is quite enjoying Gravity Falls, so he does have some taste. =:) I might see how he reacts to Danger & Eggs, too.. which I'd love to be able to buy, but in this new gilded age of television silos, Amazon's apparently wanting to keep that strictly for subscribers, just as with ( ... )

DSLRs... and Cars!!.. Funny yoo should mention 'em.. *fuzzlefurr!* .. I got sucked into both... but I didn't have to spend as much on the camera stuff as most of the really good stuff came thru me dad ^v^ ... Subjects? Well.. the usual weddings and travel-pics, and also some journalism (all professionally for a couple decades), but I haven't done much professionally since the advent of digital... so instead the money went into the cars ... I'm now in a recoup and recovery period :D
In-world.. ah! I think perhaps not, unless we met at one of the great Makovette hang-out times (which I think, alas, have waned ... except maybe by appointment? eh Mako?) :D
Weave talked about it, but maybe sometime we should indeed stroll the Linden landscape escape for a bit and chat it up, and have a right-techno-tea-time, pip pip! ^v^

I will briefly add that I, too, appreciate cars and cameras and chicken icons.

And I'm a little surprised given so many responses from furries that nobody has mentioned any hints about compensating for something with that lens, so I guess I'll be the first. :P

Personally I was a Canon guy on 35mm, and still have a 70-200/2.8L from that era. I gotta say though that my favorite lenses were Mamiya's medium-format lenses. I took a simple off-the-cuff family snapshot once, and it came out like some kind of late '90s/early '00s fashion magazine shot. Pretty funny.

I keep meaning to get some photoshop classes but I don't have time for traditional school and don't know any good online resources though I'm sure they must exist. Maybe you know of something. But anyway, enough sidetracking off the thread. :)
