Anyway, we drove down the beach just now and the water is already up over the sea oats (part of our barrier system). Keep in mind that we don't yet have wind or rain. This means that the storm surge (estimated 18+ feet) will be added on to this early 3+ foot elevation. The bayou is already creeping across the street from my house. I love watching the radar picture of the hurricane slamming into the little topographical drawing of my home. The best bit is that the monstrous hurricane seasons are predicted to last for another 5 or 6 years. Hooray.
