I didn't realise how hard it is to get a job in Plymouth. I must of sent around 20 CV's (or resume's to our American cousins over there) two to three months ago and I've only had two or three replies and buggar all from the others! Not even an acknowledgement letter or even a "kiss my ass". I'm sure business in the south-west of England are either too lazy to make the effort to reply or they don't really give a shit that they are short-staffed and would rather just struggle on. No wonder shoppers in Plymouth are pissed off with the constant shit service all these shops give.
I went to the local McDonald's in the city on Friday to see if I could get my old managers job back. I remember the store manager a couple of days before asking me to see him at 11am that day so I could have an interview with him as he was short of managers. When I did come in that Friday, he told me that he had enough managers. I just thought, "wanker". A wanker for giving me false hope. I can't go back home to Bath as it's been found out recently that the house is full of asbestos and needs removing and if I don't find a job soon, I won't be able to pay any rent for this month, leaving me homeless. The store manager then said to me he would phone around the other stores to see if they would take me. Why should I believe that after the bullshit he talked to me? I then took it upon myself to phone another store. The manager of that store happened to be female, and within half an hour I had a job. No bullshit or hassle. A sigh of relief.
I find female managers more reliable and efficient than male ones in general. Maybe the world should be run by more of them.
