Christmas Pica-Pica

Dec 25, 2007 06:21

Thank God there was exactly ONE place open for dinner last night, the Radisson SAS 1919 Hotel. And they served but one thing: The Christmas Pica-Pica, a 14 course Holiday dinner. It was a crazy and somewhat deranged meal with a wee bit too much to chew on, but it was delightful, and my fellow travellers from around the globe congregated here and much merriment was had by all. Brand new kitchen, first night for the staff, and servers at some points running around like chickens with their heads cut off. But all was good, and I met some pretty decent and interesting people. We're having an orphans' drink-a-palooza later at the Enskibarrin later ... much Brennivin and Viking and Opal will be had. Here is the menu! (Funnily enough, at some times two things would come out at the same time, and the order in the menu was not the order in which they were served.) Bottoms up!

Hangikjot Carpaccio, Granada Fruit Dressing

***

Green Asparagus with Taragon Emulsion

***

Andalusian Gazpacho with Grilled Langoustine

***

Seafood Soup with Orange Cappucino

***

Warm Sliced Salmon and Salted Lemon

And that was that ... I have a dinner reservation at my hotel tonight at six -- let's see what that one entails! Cheers my friends!
