fuck the College Board. fuck the SAT.

critical reading: 640
math: 650
writing: 750 (at least that one was good.)
total: 2040.have to wait to see what overall percentile i'm in. if i'm in the 99th percentile, which i doubt, i guess it's okay, but i definitely have to re-take it anyway. i guess i'll do the september test. i need to fucking get into ( Read more... )

ok, first of all 2040 is a really good score, and that's an incredible writing score.

but I wouldn't bank on being asian, it's actually worse to be asian than it is to be white as far as college acceptance goes.

no, if jennifer wells told you that, I refuse to believe that -- unless colleges use reverse discrimination, i.e. because i am asian their expectations as to what my grades and SAT scores should be are higher than what I actually have. why is it bad to be asian?

according to a bunch of studies, Hispanics and African Americans are held to lower standards than whites and Asians.

so I guess it's not bad to be Asian. but it's not good either.

what schools did you have in mind?

ah..Cooper Union, Oberlin, RISD, maybe Pratt. my score's in range for all of those schools but i've failed a lot of classes, so i think my SAT score should compensate for my bad grades.

except i got a 690 on critcal and a 600 on math.

i def. want to retake them also.

it really depends on each college, especailly art school. i got 1780, and savanah sent me a letter about how i qualified for a scholarship for all four years. with your scores, they would pay for over half of your tuition. art schools expect alot less from their students than most regular "good" schools, even MICA and RISD.
plus, your artwork is amazing, so even decent(ie lower than your) sat's, with an amazing porfolio, and recomendations from the art internships your doing will definitly get you accepted.

now maybe if you couldn't spell the word especially, you would have some problems.
