Think this might be my first post here...
One of my biggest gripes is the way certain elements of the porn industry have wormed their way into every aspect of life. (eg Playboy stationary and kid's clothes, etc etc) Well, today it was the first thing i saw on entering campus. Our charming Athletic Union are having a Playboy-themed party at a local club, and they have a stall advertising this right outside the campus shop. And to make things worse there is an official advert at Students Union Reception, so this appears to have been sanctioned. I'm pissed off that our alleged Equal Ops policy (ok, not widely vaunted, but one technically exists because all SUs have to have one) doesn't matter or is just not contravened by this.
Plus i feel kind of powerless. I can remove posters in the building i work in, no problems, but can do pretty much eff-all anywhere else. I don't know anyone else at this uni who is bothered, and plenty who'd give me shit if i rocked the boat. Maybe, shamefully, i'm actually too tired to take on the whole sodding AU, quite possibly the Union exec, student opinion, public opinion, and so on. That pisses me off.
