We did it!
Laridian and I wrote over 50,000 words on our non-fanfiction work starting on the first day of this month and crossing the "finish" line just in time to validate on the first day that was an option. (I say "finish" because the book is, at best, half done. Validate = validating word count on the NaNoWriMo website.)
For the first time in many years, I'm actually toying with buying a commemorative T-shirt, specifically the 2014 NaNo Winner's T-shirt. I probably won't, because (like any other T-shirt ever) it won't fit, but I'm so proud of myself that I'm tempted anyway.
Next goalpost is 100,000 words for the combined document. (If you check the NaNo site, that's why my wordcount has suddenly jumped to almost 90k. I'm now tracking the combined document.)
