You've got me sewn

A fic update; I'm currently working on another Watchmen fic which should be done and posted sometime by the end of the week. I'm having a bit of a rough time with the structure, but I promise you guys I'll have it up shortly!

A request to my artist friends; do you guys know of any good textures or brushes, preferably for GIMP? I've been messing around on there lately and can't seem to find anything decent to use to add a bit of grittiness to the skin and clothing. Links to the downloads are much appreciated!

Alright, so here are some lulzy re-cut movie comics from the International Society of Supervillains for your viewing pleasure, to make up for this lame post.

In other news, I finished reading Little Children some time on Sunday. It was really good, despite the fact that the ending made me feel... Well, bitter. Let's just say there is a character who I would pay good money to beat the shit out of.  Oh, also, Ronnie is basically the hugest dick EVER in this book. Yes, I disliked him in the movie, (it's virtually impossible not to, considering he's a pedophile/sex-offender,) but in the book his character is... Well, a giant douche bag, among other things. I don't really want to spoil it by going into detail, so go read it yourselves!

After finishing Little Children I started American Psycho, which I finished yesterday. It was actually a really great book and extremely thought provoking, especially towards the end. Its satirical nature coupled with the psychological thriller aspect really compliment eachother, and at times I even found myself laughing, (though not at the murders of course.) Uniquely enough I found it absolutely impossible to sympathize with the main character Patrick Batman, odd considering I usually find some point to empathize with them on no matter how horrible they are. I've seen the movie previously, but it doesn't even come close to the disgusting discription of the sex and violence that takes place in the book; whereas the movie was incredibly disturbing, the book actually made me feel physically sick at points, through its extensive discriptions of canibalization, rape, torture, and other factors.

Next I'm starting on Shutter Island, and I'm in the midst of attempting to secure a copy of The Ratman's Notebooks, (which went out of print some time ago.)

books, life
