here's some fooding -- this is what i cooked for dinner tonight.
sauteed skate wing w/ kale, roasted beet & goat cheese napoleon

it turned out surprisingly good, considering that this is my first time working with skate, beets, or kale! almost undercooked it but saved at the last moment.
the fath had told me that fresh skate was available really cheap (can you say $1.99 a pound?) and i had been wanting to work with beets for a while (as well as other seasonal vegetables, like kale) so this was a little bit of an experiment as well as a little bit of relaxation. the parents certainly dug it, too -- they loved the meal.
and, best of all, me cooking means i don't have to do the dishes.
