I'm still around. Just being a bit quiet.
This tidbit from
Simon Pegg's blog is just too good to be true:
After another four hours sleep, we were up and at 'em and headed for NYC and Late Night With David Letterman. Mercifully, I slept on the plane and thus charged my batteries for my final press engagement of the Spaced Invasion tour. Got into the Bowery Hotel, showered, went out and bought a shirt, met up with my friend Tony, then went to The Ed Sullivan Theatre. Got to my dressing room to find a message from Gillian Anderson scrawled on my mirror in lipstick: PEGG - I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE NOT COMING TO MY FILM. DIE SCUMBAG!!! - DANA. I was supposed to be going to the X-Files premiere when I got home but couldn't go because we had friends from LA getting in that day for Nick's wedding on Friday.
WIIINNNNNN!! And apart from the awesomeness of Pegg/Anderson, I had no idea Nick Frost was getting married! He's been married over a week now! Obviously he and Christina pay extra special attention to my LJ, so I'll take this opportunity to say congraulations to them both!
The Jane Fallon interview in The Times isn't particularly insightful, but it's interesting if only because I know absolutely nothing about her, apart from the fact that she's Ricky Gervais's other half. Her books sound interesting. I've completely avoided chick-lit (apart from YA and Bridget Jones) and I'm willing to give her books a try.
A couple of gems via
ohnotheydidnt:
- America Ferrera gets pissy when Blake Lively talks about Gossip Girl while the pair are being interviewed about Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2. To be fair, Blake was just answering a question! Also, I'm not ashamed of my love for the first movie (eagerly anticipated its release, own the DVD, desperate to see the sequel), and the 4 girls were like BFF when they made that (admittedly before both GG and Ugly Betty), so I wonder what gives?
- Harpers Bazaar dress up the Ronsons as the Tenenbaums!!
Sam as Margot! Hurray!
I'm pretty excited that
Steven Moffat won the Hugo award for the third year running, and Blink is a really really great episode, but I'll be damned if I don't prefer Human Nature/Family of Blood. I would have liked to see Paul Cornell win that one.
