Christmas/birthday/ I'm totally broke now. XD

My mom and sister came down for New Year's, and we were planning to redo my crafting area so I had a place to work where I could see and all my materials were right there. We were also planning to poke at my room.

My mother and sister are like cleaning TORNADOES. Mom has this saying- "If I throw it away and you don't know what it is, are you going to miss it?" Mom cleans and Haley organizes, and I mostly just stood back and pointed at where things needed to go, and sorted through papers and things. I've still got a stack of papers on the kitchen table to sort and file, but otherwise, all of my sorting for like, ever, is done. Haley put all of my boxes in the basement into plastic totes so nothing got ruined by leaks again and stored them in the closet down there. She organized and consolidated a ton of my crafting materials downstairs and has them all neatly labeled in their bins. We went to Target and bought six 1x1 itso cubes, and shelves and bins for them to give me two large bins, four medium bins, eight smaller bins, and another eight of the smallest trays. The cubes are black and white plastic and I went with green and blue for the bins. It's a truly awesome modular storage system I can continue to add to for a really nice price, and it looks great! Itso cool. ;) Mom and I hung a four foot shop light, and picked up some various clip lights I can move around as needed for gratuitous amounts of lighting. We also picked up some 18 gallon tubs for larger materials storage, such as fabric, flowers, and costuming supplies. It looks SO COOL.

As far as my room goes, mom gave me my birthday present early when we found a GORGEOUS bedding set at Tuesday Morning, which is sort of like a high-end Big Lots- closeout and odds and ends. Mom sent me out for the last few things we'd forgotten and/or needed to switch, and she and Haley finished my room. It is amazing and so peaceful in there. I took a nap when they left and I didn't want to get up. ^_^ All that's left to do is sort through my toys and put them away. We got my display case up, and mom and Haley put my signed gauntlets from costumes of the past as well as one of Red Alert's tires I kept, and Unicron's helmet, mask and chin. It looks so good in there I kinda want to leave those in there and not display my toys yet- I'll pick up another display case at some point for that. I'll post pictures as soon as Michelle gets home, as she has the camera. After this project was complete, we decided that mom and Haley need a show on HGTV or something where they go in and essentially do a CLEANING WHIRLWIND in people's houses and make it look nice. We're going to call it "You Won't Miss It." It would be aimed specifically at packrats like me who find EVERYTHING sentimental. Not necessarily hoarders, just packrats with a bit too much stuff they don't need but can't bear to throw away themselves. XD

I'm so excited about being able to do crafts now in my own space, which is well-lit and well organized! Eee! And my ROOM! I am declaring it a pet-free zone for the time being, so it stays nice. We have lots of comfy couches, the critters don't need to be in there.
