Well before I go to bed (I'm gradually trying to make it to bed earlier and earlier now in order to stand the morning wake up a little better) I thought I might add an entry to this journal of mine. I'll spare you the details with how things have been going except to say I'm extremely content with life. On that note, along with a devotional I've been doing every day after I come home from school and on the weekend afternoons, I started the Purpose Driven Life tonight. Just after reading Day 1 I already know it's going to be a fantastic devotional. The first day confirmed a belief I had and coincided with the book of Ecclesiates (spelling?). What purpose is there to life unless you are serving God? Sure life might be grand while you're living it but even if you don't put your hope in money and material items (and we've all been taught from day one that those all go away, though some people never seem to realize that), what happens when you die? Without a God nothing happens. You die and that's it. I guess some people are okay with that but why? Why settle for knowing that in the end what you accumulate over your entire life, no matter how long it might be, will, in the end, get you nowhere except in a grave? No one can escape physical death. It is inevitable. God is there and He's offering you more than the grave. He's offering you a peaceful and wonderful eternity. Why not just take it?
