I can't think of a particular story, at the moment, that I want people to read-but I do remember thinking that the Bittybang stories didn't *quite* get all the appreciation they deserved. It was our first Long Popslash Fic challenge (that I know of), and there were lots written and they were really very enjoyable indeed, but for reasons of timing ended up being posted in late November/early December, which meant that most of us were by then busy with our SeSa stories. I think. (Admittedly my own response to a deadline is to procrastinate for as long as I dare, but I dare say others may be more organised.)

So-the bittybang stories!

Recessive Genes, by Wilde Stallyn, from the 2009 MtYG.

Seriously, I love this story so incredibly much, and yet it seemed to get hardly any recs over MtYG season. It's so quintessentially popslash in the way it takes a completely bizarre central premise, and then treats it totally seriously and builds a lovely story round it. If you haven't read it, I don't want to spoil it, because what's going on becomes clear over the length of the story, and it's definitely one that repays re-reading so you can go 'Oh! Of course!' at all the bits that seemed weird the first time though. And the Nick, Howie and JC are all adorable, plus there's bonus Chris, and good use of minor characters. And it doesn't ditch Leigh, which is even more of an enormous plus for me.

Basically, it's brilliant, and everyone should go read it and send feedback. Now. Go on -- go! Click! You won't regret it.

I'm way out of the loop and have no idea what other people have read. So I may be wrong, but I got the feeling other people didn't appreciate Marg's writing the way I did. I like how she dwells on emotions. IIRC Approval was her masterpiece.

ninjetti75's Tabula Rasa, Lacuna Caeruleus. From Pen's 2009 Dragon Challenge. I put off reading this one until last because of the title (as I don't have a clue what it means), however, this is so beautifully written, it instantly became a favorite popslash story of mine. Ninjetti does such a wonderful job of creating the culture and the setting. It's easy to get lost in falling in love with the story.
