1. What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
Went to Africa. Went quad biking with the suspected result of being rubbish at it, though it did provide my sister with a lot of laughs. Oh, and SAW KATE BUSH LIVE! AND TOUCHED KATE BUSH!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn’t make any so… I did manage to travel a little bit more, but not as much as I'd like.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I'm aware of.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
The amazing and wonderful one of a kind Piglet the cat. I was very lucky I got to see her in the fluff before she went to Rainbow Bridge.

5. What countries did you visit?
Australia (obviously), England, Tunisia, France, Belgium; plane stopovers though didn't go out of the airports in Brunei and Dubai.

6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
A sense of purpose.

7. What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
2nd September - the day of KATE!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting up at 0500 after 2 hours sleep to watch the Eurovision Song Contest live (again) and getting up at silly hours to watch an abysmal England do hopelessly in the World Cup.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Letting depression getting the better of me.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I thought my bridgework falling out into a cheese sandwich less than 30 minutes of being back in Blighty was rather impressive...

11. What was the best thing you bought?
An all-inclusive holiday for me and my sister to Tunisia. I would say the Kate Bush tickets, but sis did all the "hard work", I just transfered the £.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Piglet's for being lovely and smugly and remembering who I was after 6 years. Oh, and Kate Bush's for announcing live concerts after only 35 years. And sister's for managing to obtain Kate tickets.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The governments of the UK and Australia, ISIS/ISIL/IS/whatever they are calling themselves this week, the idiot voting public across Europe for not giving enough points to the Netherlands at Eurovision.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Plane tickets.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
KATE!

16. What song will always remind you of 2014?
"Cloudbusting" - Kate Bush and "Calm After The Storm" - The Common Linnets. According to my last.fm charts, the artists I listened to the most this year were 1) Kate Bush, 2) Blondie, and 3) Madonna. Nothing unusual there then...

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Sadder.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Feel happier, taken more breaks.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Work, feeling angry/frustrated.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Playing with Skippy the cat and opening her presents.

21. What LJ users did you meet?
No one I'd never met before. Just sis and Piglet again.

22. Did you fall in love in 2014?
No.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favourite TV programme?
"Borgen", which I downloaded.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, though there are some people I dislike.

26. What was the best book you read?
Probably Don Oberdorfer & Robert Carlin - "The Two Koreas". I appear to have read a lot of books about North Korea in the last year.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Common Linnets. Admittedly I had seen Ilse de Lange back in 1998 when she supported Trisha Yearwood, but... Live 2014 seemed to be a year of reminiscence with concerts including Suzanne Vega, Kristin Hersh and Veruca Salt.

28. What did you want and get?
KATE BUSH TICKETS!

29. What did you want and not get?
Lottery win and Madonna touring Australia. Maybe 2015?

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Not sure I can think of one to be honest.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 42 and I can’t really remember what I did.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Lottery win. Not feeling so down and crappy.

33. How would you describe your personal
