Character: Shirayuki Mizore
Series:
Rosario+VampireAge: 17
Canon: Aono Tsukune is a painfully average young man who's failed his high school application test. In desperation, he signs up for a place called Youkai Academy... only to find that it is actually a secret academy for youkai, or monsters. He'd leave, except that he's fallen in love with the beautiful vampire Akashiya Mocha. So now all he has to do is keep his humanity secret, battle monstrous classmates and underground organizations, and juggle a gradually growing monster girl harem. Yes, Rosario+Vampire is that kind of manga, but it's also the kind of manga that draws you in with fanservice and then hits you with epic fighting sequences and tear-jerking, heart-warming storylines while your guard is down. Before long, Tsukune has knitted together a close group of friends who -- though they may fight over his love -- would still die for each other in a heartbeat.
The yuki-onna (snow woman) Shirayuki Mizore is a late addition to the harem. Originally she started stalking Tsukune after reading his articles in the school paper, but a few misunderstandings (and fights) later, she becomes a genuine friend to the entire group. Thanks to past events making it hard for her to trust people, Mizore is quiet and shy, often standing a few feet apart from her friends, even when they're hanging out. But when she does speak up, she's as likely to be harsh as kind, always to the point and brutally honest. She can control ice to form claws or projectiles, has a tendency of stalking people from a distance and suddenly appearing in strange places nearby, and will freeze her friends solid to get them to calm down. All in all, she's a perfect example of the Youkai Academy student body.
Sample Post:
...Hello. You're probably wondering why I'm sitting in your closet.
It's a simple case of mistaken identity. For a moment I thought you were Tsukune, my future husband. No, I'm not a stalker. I just used to be a little shy. Force of habit. So now that I've explained, I'll just be on my way... except that the look in the one eye you have left says you don't intend to let me. Alright. Don't worry. Tsukune doesn't like it when people get hurt, so I'll go easy on you. You'll thaw out once spring comes.
This field trip really was a waste of time. Monsters are the same in any country. The teachers must just want us off their hands for a few days. Not that I mind, really. Now where did the others wander off to? There must be someone around I can ask for directions. ...I suppose you toucans will have to do. Lead me to my fellow monsters, please.
...Obviously I should have been more specific. But did you birds really think these could be my friends? No self-respecting Academy zombie would walk around so badly preserved. Whoever reanimated them was either incompetent or just didn't care... Oh, are you mad? I'm only telling the truth. And something else that's true is that you have no chance against me. But if you still want to approach, that's fine. Take this--!
...Why aren't my powers working? Hey, toucan, what's going on here? That thing you're holding... You think I have time to read a rule book right now? Ugh, fine. Page 69, page 69... "Ice powers may only be used publically when accompanied by an appropriate pun"? That's the stupidest rule I've heard of in a long time. But it seems to be binding, so... Ice... to meet you?
There. And as for you birds, stop laughing and cool down for a minute. Hm. Maybe I can manage this after all.
