★ Leehom Wang (album)
Oh snap, 100th upload post for this year!
I'm back from hibernation and my 3.5 month vacation technically just started! Hauled heaps of CDs pre-exams and got lotsa other recent releases downloaded so be prepared for some spammm! With Leehom's contract over with Sony (I gotta admit I always thought Sony did good to him ^^), this is mostly likely his last release under Sony - a best collection! I would've preferred a more comprehension "best collection" as it's all stuff from his Sony releases and mostly post 2003/4-ish. Nonetheless yours truly is still excited because listening to old songs in a different context is kinda like listening to new songs?! :D Huo Li Quan Kai and Yi Ran Ai Ni are the two new tracks (individual links provided). I think I like Huo Li Quan Kai the more I listen to it. From the moment I first met the song, I was convinced Leehom was channeling his inner MJ. I FREAKING LOVE THE VERSES TO DEATH AND BACK - some of the lyrics just made me "wai you always remain so epic". The song has amazing oomph and I am totally feeling it. The "KeSha-omg-controversy" parts were just too long/boring at some points compared to everything else which was pretty much a Leehom party. Making my way through the track list reminded me that whether I like something Leehom releases or not, he almost always brings something different to the table, and I am incredibly proud of his 14 mando-albums to date (and what a celebration of his time at Sony this album is!). ^_^
