NEWS is back with a single after almost a year. This PV was aired last week for Sakura Girl, which will be released in two Wednesdays. I'll be brief on commenting about the song because I should probably do that when I post the single. It's definitely different for NEWS, employing this kind of music that generally works for most people. It completely feels like a cross between the recent Aoyama Thelma x Taeyang and Shimizu Shota x Kato Miliyah collabs to me (is that weird?). The first thing everyone notices about the PV is that it's almost totally washed out and muted in pale pastel. It's a drama-ish PV centering around breakups, and while I liked the changes in rhythm and pace of shots to match the music, I didn't like that most of it was filmed with slow motion cinematography. That certainly didn't help the half-hearted lipsynching. There are heaps of stunning shots of cherry blossoms though. <3
