May Doni has finally debuted with her own CD. The former YG trainee was first noticed a few years ago because of her powerful vocals in renditions of If I Ain't Got You, Because Of You and the likes. Having trained under YG, she can also totally dance (see Passion). She has the maturity, talent and versatility beyond her years, and despite Ria and I being slightly heartbroken that she left YG, she's definitely a force to be reckoned with - not only equipped with the voice and ability to dance well, but she's also a great performer. I can't wait to see what she comes up with in the years to come. Her debut mini album's title track is Molla ing (individual link available), a mid-tempo R&B kind of ballad featuring Jo Kwon & Jung Jin Woon of 2AM. ID (I'm Maydoni) is a more upbeat, kinda pop song while Like The First Time is your more typical ballad. They all showcase May Doni's vocals (which are WOW) really well, despite being so different. The three main tracks deserve thumbs up, and even the mixes of Molla ing are pretty catchy. :) As a debut, I'm glad they didn't stick to just one genre. Do try it out and remember to keep an eye out for this teen! ♥
