Weekend update - Dallas edition
That weekend went far too fast! But it was just the break I needed from every day stuff here. I had been feeling a little overwhelmed by some things going on and was getting a bad case of the grouchies. Some fun, friends, shopping, food and a bar fight certainly took care of that!
I left Friday morning and headed over to Dallas. Its about a 4 1/2 hour drive from my house to the Dallas area. Just about the right length of time for a book on tape. This trip I had downloaded "Lucky Thirteen" by Janet Evanovich. It was a fun book that had me literally laughing out loud at a couple of points. But I really think I prefer to read that series, as opposed to listening to it. Still it was a good choice.
I made it to Dallas in the early afternoon and did a little wondering around and shopping. Just hanging out and enjoying myself. Around 5, I headed over to The B and J, B&B ... or as most people call it, Brigette and Jason's apartment. Brigette wasn't quite home from work yet, and Jason was in the shower, so I came in and got settled, unpacked and checked email. B and I had a fabulous visit when she got home and eventually Jason came down and joined us. We had a good time visiting and catching up.
That evening we headed over to the new Studio Movie Grill on Royal and 75. Great location... we had free tickets and went to see National Treasure 2. It was a fun movie. Just right... The Margarita and food were good too. By the time we were back, I was completely worn out, so after some geography on the computer... (don't ask...) I hit the sack.
