Well, I am in a much better mood than I was, so I am sure the internet is grateful. Not to mention the people around me. lol. We had a slow start this morning, and then got some yummies ready for the party. Nothing elaborate. Ended up making the Oreo Truffles I made at New Years, which are a huge hit with pretty much everyone. And Brigette's bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Not my party, so not an elaborate spread. But good and well received.
The jewelery at this party was actually fairly pretty. There was tons I wouldn't be caught dead in, but quite a few nice pieces. I bought a couple of things to go with the clothes I have bought for the cruise... Lis was able to get quite a few things thanks to her sales, so she had fun with that. Staci shopped for her niece, but I BI'd her into getting something for herself. Terrible, aren't I?
After the party and clean up, the three of us packed up and headed out to eat for dinner. It was a casual seafood place called the Fish House, or something like that. I shared the blue crab stuffed mushrooms with a parmigiana and jalapeño sauce. Quite yummy... and then had crab cakes for dinner. They were good, but I'm spoiled. I'd had much better ones at
troupatour 's last week.
When we were finished we headed over to see 27 Dresses. I loved this flick. Definitely a chick flick, but with lots of sarcasm and cynicism. Fabulous. I relate a little too well with Jane, although instead of being the last of a group to marry, I was the first. But I helped each of them get their dream weddings while I did way too much settling for mine. But I am good at being the "perfect" bridesmaid... maybe not 27 times, but more than 15. Anyway, go see it if you like weddings, chick flicks, light comedies... Its good.
Hit Starbucks on the way home and then just hung out for a while. Staci and Melissa have crashed, so I am sitting here surfing the internet and updating live journal. WOohoo... lol... gotta love those wild girls weekends...
