Everything with the house is going really well, we have all the flooring done, just need to paint the doors and door frames and put in baseboards. It looks like a totally different house.

Over the weekend Sean and I proved that we are truly crazy and we adopted another dog, I couldn't resist. Her name is vera, there are pictures on FB, I am too lazy to host and post them here too. She is a tiny little mutt (beagle mix of sorts) and she is great, 9 weeks old, for those who lost count this makes 4...

On a ranty sidenote: Everywhere I go, someone is bitching about the wildfires. For anyone who is out of the loop, there are wildfires raging throughout Florida and Georgia, and although they remain fairly far away from where I live, the smoke here from day to day is pretty prevalent.

Every time I leave the house, I hear something like, "This smoke is so annoying," or "when is this gonna go away?" or "I can't see, this is so lame, *cough cough* my weak lungs can't handle it." I get it, this whole thing is a bit of a nuisance, it is like on big week long state wide bbq. But every time someone complains to me I feel that much more sad about society in general.

Not a single time have I heard anyone say anything about the people that look out their back yard to see a fire inching ever closer to their home, or those who have already lost their homes or business despite the tireless efforts of local fire department. As it stands the wildfires are getting worse, there is a sub tropical storm off the coast which threatens much more lightning and wind than rain. So I'm sorry that I'm not sympathetic to your bitching about the smoke when there are people nearby who stand to lose a lot to these fires. People are so self absorbed that they don't even realize that where there is smoke, there must be fire, not just a minor inconvenience to you.
