Yay. Finals are over with (THANK THE POWERS THAT BE), as are the holidays; well, the important one. I can actually stalk my fandoms again without my gut twisting with guilt. Hooray for that, at the very lest. I really need to finish my mood themes, as well as a batch or two of icons I'd started on before I buckled down to study, but something new has sunk its claws into me...
Alas, I have been tempted by the dark side - the dark side being MMORPG. That's right. World of Warcraft. I never thought I'd like it, but... wow (ha ha). It's actually fun. My trial is about to run out, and I want to dash out and buy the game now. I hated FFXI, much to my friends' chagrin. However, WoW works on my Mac, isn't nearly as confusing, and... well, I just like it better. I've made some friends, leveled up, and worked on several skills like cooking (hee) and first aid, as well as some professions. It's great fun. I just need to find the money to buy it with. XD
Oh! I saw Sweeney Todd. It was quite wonderful, but very tragic. However, I am a sucker for tragic characters, and Sweeney takes the cake on that one. I was glad they casted actors who can sing instead of professional singers, because they really know how to put accents on the right words. While a lot of people I've heard from like Johnny Depp's singing, they've complained he wasn't mad enough to sound like Sweeney; he was too soulful for them. However, you have to keep in mind that this production wasn't on a STAGE. It was FILM. You need to be a bit more subtle. Also, it was a lot darker than the musical to me. Tim Burton did it a little different. They purposely made the film look DARK and bleak. Also, Depp gave Sweeney this quiet edge, that made him a lot more frightening than being outright crazy. It freaked me out a bit, and made him stick in my mind. Overall, though, the cast was wonderful together. Sacha Baron Cohen probably had the funniest part in the entire thing, and I was sad he had to die so soon. I really recommend to any one who reads this that you see the movie. However, it is rated R for a good reason. LOTS of blood.
Speak of the devil. I hear my mother playing the soundtrack in the background! XD
Hm. Well... I think that's all I have to say for now. I'd talk about the second season of Dexter, but I've already gone on about Sweeney Todd.
