My mom called me at 9:30 this morning to inform me that she had stumbled upon a big jar of knitting needles at a garage sale asked if I wanted them. Um, only always. So she comes home with this:
Sure, some are bent and others mismatched, but there are still a lot of needles that can be used. Whatever I already have is getting passed onto Lauren and whoever else that wants any. There are a lot of 1's, 2's, 4's, and 6's, so once I get a complete inventory, that will be shared.
When I went out with mom this morning/early afternoon, we didn't have as much luck, but I did end up with a pretty kick-ass magazine rack for $3. It's hard to explain, but it's going to get Amanda-fied with some paint and/or decoupage once I figure out what it wants to be. I also found a few cute pieces of glassware for $.10 each. Got 7 pieces total, and they're stemmed with blue/green "cup" parts. Two small ice cream cup-types, 3 smaller and 2 larger parfait-style pieces. I don't know if they're actually parfait pieces, but I don't know how else to describe them. Cute nonetheless. I saw a breadmaker at the same sale for $2, and anybody who knows me well knows that I've been wanting a breadmaker for quite a while. Unfortunately, it was in gross condition and there were bits of dough stuck in the machine. Thanks, but no thanks. That was the big disappointment du jour.
