[048] LOUUUUUUUUUUU
This weekend. THIS WEEKEND. Oh my God. So much win in two days.
Last night Steph and I had our chemistry midterm and afterwards we decided to get hammered in retaliation to all the studying we had to do. It was like 10pm when we heard all of our floormates outside in the hall, so we went to go see what was up. Turns out they were going to some upper years' house party by Fanshaw and invited us along. Hells yeah~ Didn't have to pay for the cab either, since Simon is a gentleman.
It was awesome. Steph and I failed at table hockey and broke a beer bottle. My boots got soaked from walking around trying to find a cab. Simon took 10000 years to roll a joint. I drew/wrote 'penis' on Steph's hand in red permanent marker. It was awesome, just hanging out, talking to the girls and chilling (I'm surprised how much I like Kelly, but I guess I just haven't really talked to her much before).
Best of the night, though: Nolan and Steph singing country songs together. Hilarious.
Got back at 3am and crashed XD
BUT TODAY. TODAY. GOLD MEDAL GAME USA VS. CANADA MEN'S HOCKEY. Oh, MAN, what a game. Epic, all around. Just EPIC. I watched it in the unit lounge with our floor. There were at least 30 people in there, crowded around the TV on couches, chairs, or just standing. We had a 2-0 lead until the end of the second period. First, USA got a goal, making it 2-1 and, oh man, that last period was the longest fucking 20 minutes of my life. There was literally one minute left, when USA pulled Miller and tied it up. People were screaming in protest. My heart was hammering and my hands were shaking, like I had downed an energy drink in ten seconds.
And so we were going into twenty minute overtime. Every shot at their net had us yelling, every shot at ours had us holding our breath. But Crosby. God damn it, Crosby, you saved us again!!!!! 3-2 CANADA GETS THE FUCKING GOLD!
DOUBLE GOLD!!!!
And history, actually! Most gold medals won by a country ever in Winter Olympics (AND by a host country).
Crosby was interviewed, like, right after the game was over and they asked him to walk them through his game winning goal. His answer: "I don't know, I just shot!" >< Why so cute, Crosby?
EPIC. EPIC. When they took the team picture, the defeated USA team was skating off in the background. Nothing could be sweeter. Luongo was epic. Crosby was epic. Everyone was epic. WE'RE fucking epic (lil, quiet Canada went through Germany, Russia, Slovakia and the USA to get the gold. Who owns the world, again?).
