It's been a long time since I updated this... oops.
For those who may have been interested, I lost the election by 4 votes. It wasn't all bad though, as my party got their majority and have succeeded already with some of what we were campaigning for. And four votes as a division between an unknown and potentially weird goth and a veteran campaigner in post wasn't at all bad.
It was an interesting experience, I met a lot of people and made some potentially useful contacts, and might even try again in the future.
What else? I went to see Rufus Wainwright at Portsmouth Guildhall. Not very goth, I'll admit, but it was fantastic. Very entertaining, very impressive. Enjoyed that a lot.
Did a VERY scary presentation to about 40 staff at my workplace last Wednesday about the history of the Library and it's staff. I was SOOOOOO terrified about it, but it seemed to go OK, and I got lots of emails saying how much people had enjoyed it - although that may have been down to the biscuits I used as bribery *lol*.
Have joined facebook. Probably not the best place to advertise this, but I have. Mainly because I have to do a training session for library staff in three weeks in which I have to explain and introduce myspace, lj and facebook to, well... library folks. Would be good to look popular when I show my profiles, so please add me if you see me!
