Well, I got it checked over by a doctor. I've been wearing a splint on it for a few weeks. I've been trying to rest it, but - I really just wanted to practice today and clear my head.

[About thirty to forty-five minutes later, Longshot's finally at the barracks. Upon spotting Xion - and yay, she's a girl again - he quietly walks over.]

[ why so late, bro. Xion's actually firing the last of her arrows at the target as he approaches -- she gets it pretty close to center, though not dead on. she pauses then, lowering the bow. she hasn't spotted him yet, so feel free to surprise her, Longshot. ]

[He watches with some level of approval - she's definitely improving. Either that or it was a lucky shot. There's a small, short round of applause from behind her.]

[ she jumps a little at the sound, but when she turns to see who it is, she smiles warmly. ignore that splint on her arm. ] Hey. Think I'm getting better?

[ she'll go collect her arrows in a minute. most of her shots are pretty good -- most are clustered towards the middle, now, and she no longer misses the target like she did at the beginning. there are a few shots that are right on the outside ring, though. ]

[He looks over those shots, then gives her a firm nod. She has a ways to go, but she's definitely doing well. Especially with her arm.

And because of said arm, he can be bothered to collect the arrows for her, unless she doesn't want him to. Longshot moves towards the target with that intention in mind.]

[ Xion blinks, and almost makes a motion to stop him ... but then hangs back, smiling. It's a sweet gesture. Once he returns, she beams at him. ] Thanks, Longshot. I'm glad I'm improving. It's pretty nice, actually.

[He hands her back all but one of the arrows with another smaller nod, glad that she can see her own improvements. He finally forks over the last one, indicating that she should give it another try. He can watch with his teacher-goggles on this time, because there's still some ways she could improve.]

[ she drops them into her quiver, which is on the floor next to her for now. easier than positioning it so the strap doesn't bother her wings, really. she tilts her head a little at the final arrow, then nods, understanding, taking it from him and setting it on the string. it takes a little extra effort and time because of the splint, but then she's in position, one eye shut while she takes aim.

she lets it fly -- and it embeds into the target about two inches to the left of center. her stance could use some adjusting, and her aim is a little off because she's still not holding the bow completely correct. but it's better than when she started, for sure.

eventually she'll have to graduate to setting the target further and further back. :|b ]
