So, I'm going to take this seriously.
On the one hand, I don't want to get excited and delusional enough to be certain that I'll make it to Hollywood and beyond just to get smacked down. But on the other hand, I want to do everything in my power to make myself marketable and comfortable on stage. I want it to be a fun and exciting thing to do, and possibly something wonderful will come out of it.
I need a game plan and here is what I've got so far:
*Get fit
This is SO important. If I got there, get to see the judges, and have them tell me something like I need to look better first, I'll just die. Notice how all the girls (most of the time) who make it through are really cute/sexy? I need to be like that too. Danny and I are walking/jogging the mile trail down the road a couple times a week plus NO MORE CANDY. I think my candy consumption is totally fucking me.
*Style
I need to look the part. I'm not going to be an ass hole and dress as a giant Ga peach just to get seen. I don't have a clue what I'll wear, but it's going to be very thought out.
*Stage presents
For the most part, I'm pretty damn shy. I love to sing, and I sing Rock Band all the time, but I've usually got some alcohol in me. I've got to learn how to be myself on stage without turning to a margarita on ice. So I'm going to start going to karaoke as often as possible. There is a place right down the street (literally walking distance) that does karaoke on Thursday nights...but I've got to be sober. That's the challenge.
*Song choice
This is like a no-brainer, but people fuck it up ALL the time and it ruins their chances. I have a mental set list in my head, I'll have to get input from others, but they've got to be manageable, something I relate to, and a song that'll show what kind of recording artist I'd be.
Anyone have any input or advice?
