This was fantastic -- I love Tom meeting Jon at the airport, and the way it reminds Jon of high school and how he's already nostalgic for being 18. One of the things I love with this pairing is a kind of dirty domesticity, the idea of them sitting in Tom's messy apartment eating pizza, or Tom making badly-formed pancakes. I also really enjoyed the references to their past as well, the way they were half in love at nineteen, and the way that bleeds into their future. I think my favorite part was when Tom asks, "Did you lose your band?" because of course that's the first question that would occur to Tom, the way in which he'd frame what happened, and of course Jon's answer is a lot more complicated than the answer Tom would have given a couple of years ago. This was really fantastic -- I loved all the details of the way they bounce off each other and then come back. I loved it -- thank you so much!

Thank you! I really am so pleased you liked it. I looked at the prompt and all I could think of was Jon/Tom, and I wrestled for ages with how to go about writing this relationship in the context of all the things that happened recently with PATD. This was, I think, the only story I could tell, and it makes me happy that you enjoyed it.

YES. Exactly.

The concept of dirty domesticity is something I really wanted to bring out here, because I wanted to make it as real as possible. I hope it worked for you.

Thank you for the lovely feedback.

Oh, I loved this! I'm impressed by how much history you managed to get across in such a short space -- there was something intrinsic about it, too, like you weren't cramming all the details in, it was just there. And for some reason, Tom's note just completely won me over, I had to flap speechlessly at the screen for a while.
