summer so far...

Well, it's sort of summer. I've been working at an Extended School Year program. I have to work 20 hours per week for free during the month of June as part of my alternative teacher certification. It's probably a good experience for me, but I'm getting tired of 8 year olds with autism beating me up. Jesse doesn't have to do it because he's not getting a Special Education license. He's totally making up for it by being the world's best housewife. He's been getting up with me, taking care of the puppy, cleaning the house, and having a super yummy lunch for us when I get home at 12:30. A girl could could get used to this.

Last week, Jesse's parents were in town. They're pretty awesome so it was easy to have a great time with them. They also bought us a grill and installed a couple of ceiling fans for us. Yay! We don't have an air conditioner. That doesn't usually bother us, but it's been a hot week. I couldn't be more grateful for the fans. Long live ceiling fans! It was fun to show Jesse's parents around and take them to some of our favorite restaurants and such.

The happy family on the way to Estes Park. Some fellow Oklahomans were very nice to take this picture for us.

Jesse's parents. Aren't they cute? They've been married 31 years.

Jesse and I are coming up in two years of marital bliss. Crazy.

The Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful. We love it so much that we have an annual pass.

There's like a million chipmunks on the side of the road looking for food. I didn't feed them, but I still wanted to touch one. I don't care what you say, I'm all about touching wild animals.

We walked around Red Rocks. I haven't seen a show there yet, but everyone keeps telling me that it's the most amazing place to see one. We're going to see a couple of big shows there in August. I'm super excited about going.

We went to a Rockies game. Jesse loves baseball, and I love people watching. We went on Father's Day and the boys got free hats.

Dulce has gone from this:

to this:

Her ears just stared standing up today. I love them! She looks like a little bat. Aaah! She's getting so big. We went to the Vet on Wednesday to get her second set of immunizations, and she has almost doubled in weight. She barely weighed 6 lbs 3 weeks ago, and now she weighs 10. She's solid muscle. We've been told that she looks like a German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix. She's tough. She's also super cute and sweet though.

We're going to Oklahoma sometime in July. It's going to be a much longer drive than usual with a puppy in the car. We're getting her micro-chipped next Friday. I'll just feel better if she takes the mark of the beast.

Here's the flicker set of Dulce if you're interested.
