Chicharon and Nilaga

[This post contains some Bisaya dialect]

I prepared our dinner for tonight. On the table served were rice, tuna, and Nilaga. Since ate and kuya had not yet arrived, papa and I ate first. I just bought the Nilaga from the store across the street. As we started to eat, papa then started complaining about our viands whenever mama's not home. For tonight, he focuses his complain on the Nilaga.

Papa: Ma-high blood man ta ani (referring to the pork in the nilaga). Kato nalang dala nako na chicharon.

And I was like...WHAAAAAAAT??? You've got to be kidding me. Usahay mag-wonder jud ko if mag-hunahuna ba si papa sa iyang gipang-ingon, like for example this incident. I felt like rolling my eyes or let my jaw drop. I was dumbfounded by his statement for a second.

Dear Papa,

So yeah, I was in a state of shock for a while. Well, at least, I got to keep my mouth shut and was able to stop myself from laughing or even smile.
