I try to avoid getting overly "fan-ish" about things, even the things I really, truly love with every ounce of nerdom in my heart.\
HOWEVER.
I am so fucking pumped for this new X-Files movie that even the out-of-the-ballpark enjoyment that Iron Man brought me has already faded to a dull hum.
The first seven seasons of The X-Files had a huge impact on the way I approach fiction writing (particularly characterization) as well as influncing my general taste in the world of genre fiction. Even the 8th and 9th seasons, disappointing as they were, managed some good episodes.
And, at least so far, this movie looks like everything is back to form.
I couldn't be more excited.
