Important development!
Turns out the the High Street Kensington Waitrose has Guinness Marmite in stock, and lots of it! So I finally got to try it, and it was good. In a 'not very different at all' way.
I considered buying loads of it so I could put them all on ebay before people realise that it may be back in production. But I don't think I'll bother. The profit would only be about a fiver a go at most and it would be a pain in the arse to package. More importantly, I don't want to appear like some kind of Marmite deviant when carrying a basket of the stuff to the checkout. Back in school myself and a couple of others used to annoy someone over his love of Marmite, so unfortunately some very wrong uses of the spread comes to mind...
The mouse trap finally caught a mouse today. Hooray! It certainly took long enough. I let the bugger loose in Holland Park.
Oh yeah, there was something else. I got offered a job yesterday morning! It's at The National Archive in Kew Gardens, digitising old documents for putting online. It was something of a deviation from what I was hoping for, but being unemployed this long means I'm happy for the money and putting the bloody job searching to one side for a while. The area is easy to get to also, which is a definite plus. There's still a couple of upcoming interviews to attend, but the pressure is now off. And, my plans to cut my hair for interview presentation purposes can now be cancelled!
The start date is penciled in as the 30th. It's good that I get a couple of weeks to do whatever I like, but it's still time in which something could go wrong!
