Why not try walking?*
On the bus home today I was amused by a Transport for London/Mayor of London poster. It showed a petrol pump and and a pair of trainers, pointed out which one was cheaper for getting around (I don't think people are expected to work out how soon footwear would wear out if used to walk the same distance that an equivalent value of petrol would cover) with the tagline "Why not try walking?".
To borrow from a Newman and Baddiel In Pieces routine...
"Walking? What is that? We don't have that on the planet EURNGH!"
I'm looking forward to the next TfL poster that simply says "Why not just fuck off?". It's not as if it would be any less informative. I really hope these things are put together in crayon for free by unemployable volunteers/pre-school kids/Ken Livingstone while on the toilet.
