I've been a bad girl
I downloaded "Torchlight" to my PC from Steam because I wanted to play something "Diablo"-like (thanks kallisti!). Unfortunately, I have very little self-control and I have been staying up very late playing it. Peanut watched me play and she has her own character as well now. Maybe I'll post some screen-shots. The graphics aren't spectacular but they are colourful, not very crowded with the UI and it's always fun to show off one's character.
Last night I went to Beats & Boards, a local board-gaming night run at an independant café (where they serve and I always chose BJ's Take Charge Tea). I met the organizer while on a course for work. He's a very friendly fellow and completely into board games (yes, he reminds me a bit of dagibbs in that respect). The event is every Tuesday and I've been for the past three weeks. Part of me thinks I need a break soon but another is saying: "PLAY ALL THE BOARD GAMES!"
On the same topic, Peanut scored pretty big in the game department this holiday/ birthday season. I think she got one or two games from her dad but she also got at least three games from my side of the family. I know she got 5 Crowns (a rummy-like card game), Quiddler (a Scrabble-like card game) and a Jenga-like game involving metal rods.
We also gave a copy of "Cover Your Assets" to the Twins household a) because they really enjoyed it and b) it was voted a top nothc game by the Canadian Toy Testing Council (of which the Peanut and I volunteered for last year).
So yeah, I'm all about gaming these days.
