I also wanted to say that I wish we had had more time to talk last time, there were many things I never got a chance to bring up as a result of time constraints. All this new technology is supposed to help people communicate more freely and easily than ever before, although i am sometimes at a loss for words at the prospect of actually committing the important stuff to text.

Ive been thinking about the fact that your class was the only one I ever failed. In retrospect, I think the only way I could give you the respect you really deserved, in the context of the public school system, was to create the opportunity to show up to your class despite the fact that I didn't have to. Funny how the teenage mind works.

More than anything, though, I want to express how grateful I am that I had the chance to experience the classroom dynamic you have created. You bring genuine human warmth and life to a largely inhuman and stifling institution. It was far and away my favorite experience academically during high school. The example you set is the greater part of my inspiration during the ongoing search to find a place for myself as a teacher in this society.

I would like very much to talk to you sometime about some ideas i've had since arriving in AZ. You have lived here, and taught in many different school systems, all with their own political climates, curriculums and attitudes. I check this email, I am also available by phone @ 206-xxx-xxxx if your schedule permits.
